PROFILE SUMMARY
Specializing in flexible graphite materials for electronics thermal management applications, also fuel cells, fire retardants, graphite electrodes, carbon/carbon composites, graphene and lithium ion anode powders
EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS
Former Vice President of Research & Development at NeoGraf Solutions & GrafTech International. Specializing in flexible graphite materials for electronics thermal management applications, also fuel cells, fire retardants, graphite electrodes, carbon/carbon composites and lithium-ion anode materials.
26 US patents, over 25 publications, h-index 23, i-10 index 47.
Relevant to Li ion batteries, directed the work of a group of ~ ten R&D scientists, in the development of anode powders from natural graphite, needle coke and blends while at GrafTech International over the period 2011-2017. This included development of manufacturing processes, structure & property characterization, and coin and pouch cell testing. The team was successful in developing a range of anode powders to pilot scale level, with materials being tested by ORNL as well as a leading EV manufacturer.
